Who is Kano and how do we do it?
The Kano Group was founded by two Ugandans (Apollo and Gordon) and two Americans (Jenna and Alex). Apollo and Gordon were both guides for Jenna and Alex on their Honeymoon, exploring Uganda. Fast friendships formed, ideas flowed, and Kano Adventures was born.
We offer the perfect itineraries for an authentic Ugandan experience featuring the best Gorilla and Chimpanzee trekking in the world, spectacular birdwatching and photography destinations for maximum diversity and endemic species, and immersive cultural experiences with trusted partners for an unforgettable connection to the incredible people of western Uganda.
Just as important, we have used decades of expert travel and Uganda tour experience to ensure the safest, most comfortable, and enjoyable accommodations on your tour. We have thoroughly vetted all partners and destinations, including the quality of food!
We work with you on curating specific aspects of your tour such as photography and wildlife targets, how much cultural immersion you desire, and the exact lodges during your stay based on budget and comfort desire.
We know how challenging it can be to plan a trip like this, and we understand the anxiety around making the ‘perfect’ choice. We started Kano with this exact problem in mind, after many months in East Africa, and learning exactly what works, and what doesn’t. In addition to a comprehensive and detailed itinerary with all expectations laid out, you will also have the option of a one hour video call with our founder, Alex, for preparation and Q&A. Additionally, there will remain an open door of communication via email, text, and call as more questions or topics come up.
